The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published its Annual Safety Review for 2010. The review shows a high level of safety for commercial air transport operations in EASA Member States*.

Alexandria, VA, July 1, 2011- A coalition of fixed-based operators (FBOs) and fuel distributors who sell leaded aviation gasoline (avgas) in California have sued the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) and the Attorney General of the State of California in response to a notice of an intended lawsuit against coalition members for supplying and using leaded aviation gasoline, allegedly in violation of the California Safe Drinking Water & Toxic Enforcement Act (Prop 65). The National Air Transportation Association (NATA), which has engaged common counsel with the coalition to protect the interests of all NATA members, is supporting this group with facilitation and administrative services.

Leiden, The Netherlands and Toronto, Canada –Eurocopter Holding, a subsidiary of EADS (EUR:EAD), and Vector Aerospace Corporation (TSX:RNO), a Canadian corporation listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, announced today that all of the terms and conditions of the offer by 762798 Canada Inc. (the “Offeror”), to acquire at a price of C$13.00 in cash per share, all of the outstanding Common Shares of Vector Aerospace, including all shares that may be issued on the exercise of options granted under Vector Aerospace’s share option plan (the “Offer”), have been satisfied prior to the expiry of the Offer at 2:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on June 30, 2011.

Rolls-Royce announces it is proud to be a member of the team that was recently awarded the prestigious 2010 Robert J. Collier Trophy.

The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) CTS800-powered Sikorsky X2 Technology demonstrator won the award given annually to recognize the greatest achievements in aeronautics or astronautics in America. LHTEC is a 50:50 partnership between Rolls-Royce and Honeywell.

Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-North America, a subsidiary of Vector Aerospace Corporation has been granted a Federal Aviation Administration Amended Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), #SA1230AK-R STC; for an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS or “glass cockpit”) installation and Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) for the Sikorsky S-61L and S-61N series helicopters. The system is certified for Dual Pilot Instrument Flight Rules; Category A and B operations.

HAI encourages its members to file comments. The FAA has proposed modifications of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for Industry Access to Aircraft Situation Display (ASDI) and National Airspace System Status Information (NASSI) data. The proposal would prohibit direct and indirect subscribers from publicizing the registration number of any general aviation aircraft for which the FAA has received a certified security concern.
