Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces a signed letter of intent with Guangxi Diwang Group for 10 Bell 525 Relentless super-medium helicopters. Guangxi Diwang Group will use the Bell 525s for tourism and search-and-rescue missions. Guangxi Diwang Group is a commercial development and real estate investor.

Enstrom believes a Feb. 12 accident demonstrates the ruggedness of its N180TH's design and the ability of the aircraft to protect the occupants. While flying, the prototype TH-180 experienced a mechanical problem and made a forced landing. During the landing, the rotor struck a wooden utility pole, cutting off the pole and destroying the main rotor blades. Preliminary investigation indicates that a piece of flight test instrumentation in the main drive system failed, disconnecting the engine from the drive train. The pilot, the only person on board, was uninjured.

Vector Aerospace (, a global independent provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, announces that it has been awarded a contract to perform 12-year inspections on three Airbus Helicopters AS350 B3 AStars operated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD).
